Dr. Shannon Lemons
Owner, Veterinarian
Shannon is an avid mystery reader, and the step-by-step process of ruling out suspects is much like a challenging veterinary medicine case! This aspect of the job appealed to her so much that she went back to school to become a veterinarian.

Dr. Lemons is a native Texan, having grown up on a farm and ranch in the Texas Panhandle. Her journey to veterinary medicine wasn’t as direct as some—she considered medical school, law school, and sports medicine before settling on a veterinary career. After spending a few years as a medical transcriptionist, she applied to Colorado State University’s veterinary school and was accepted. After school she moved back to Texas, but missed the mountains of Colorado. She came back to the Pikes Peak region in 2001, discovering Teller Park Veterinary Service shortly thereafter.

Dentistry is one of Dr. Lemons’ passions within veterinary medicine. She’s even taken multiple classes from a local world-renowned veterinary dentist, and loves the way that professional dental care relieves pain and improves quality of life for her patients. She also enjoys nail trims and ear-hair clippings.

At home, Dr. Lemons’ house is full of pets. Her sidekick Cayenne often comes to work with her, and is the official greeter at the office. Clyde and Grace are Great Danes, and Peyton enjoys watching his namesake in a Bronco’s uniform. Shannon also has several horses: Cochise, Deven, and Shaman.

Dr. Lemons’ favorite hobby is dressage training, which she started about five years ago. She says it’s become more like an obsession!
